In
Anavryti, the neo-classical building of the old Primary
School houses a Botanical and Geological Museum with
a photographi exhibition of the native flora of Taygetos
and its rocks. The village is a starting point for a
tour of Mt. Taygetos. It is here that the paths begin
for the shelter (E4), for Mystras, for Aghios Ioannis
and Taygeti. From Parori begins the path to Panaghia
(Our Lady) Langadiotissa, a marveloys church built inside
a cave and to the Monastery of Phaneromeni. From Mystras
there is a lovely route to Picoulianica, Taygeti and
also to Aghios Ioannis of Vouvalon and Neos Mystras.
Visit the site of Kaiadas and walk around the grounds
of the Sainopoulian Theatre.

The
Municipality of Mystras has excellent products to display.
The microclimate on the slopes of Taygetos favours the
cultivation of olive trees and the oil produced, both
conventional and biological is extremely tasty. Biological
cultivation as well as biological cattle-raising is
favoured in the region, owing to the controlled pasturelands.
In Karavas there is a cheese-dairy that produces feta
cheese from local milk. There are also several bee-keepers
who produce excellent honey.
